About Us
The Black Lives Rising Virtual Dance Film Festival is an expression of love, passion, and compassion for the Black American experience in today’s current times. The festival showcases dance films from diverse artists who reflect the beauty, diversity, and strength of Black American identity, the Black experience and beyond.
This Festival is the vision of NYC based dance filmmaker, Joey Lorraine. The Festival has received supported in part from a LMCC Creative Engagement Grant, and is in collaboration with Imagenation Cinema Foundation.

2025 Official Selections included a stellar lineup of dance movies from all around the world, featuring emerging and established artists alike. 2026 Official Selections will be announced in August.
